The James and Elnora Boykin Arts and Culture Foundation curates socially minded projects that promote interpersonal activism, record folk histories, and allow community members to create art, all as a form of collective healing. We are driven to cultivating growth and harvesting change so that modern and diverse neighborhoods see and interact with each other plentifully and with much empathy.

Our Mission

Through well-researched programming, engaging curriculums, community folk records, and neighborly gatherings, The James and Elnora Boykin Arts and Culture Foundation provides inroads for disconnected peoples to find meaningful interaction through shared or common projects.

“A community is the mental and spiritual condition of knowing that the place is shared, and that the people who share the place define and limit the possibilities of each other's lives.”

— Wendell Berry, poet

"We see you, see ourselves and know / That we must take the upmost care / And kindness in all things."

Joy Harjo, poet
